I love making things for other people. Even more though, I like making things for myself. Mostly because I can do whatever I want and not have answer to anyone else’s tastes!
I needed something to lug my workbook and bibles around for this new bible study that I started this past fall. I love the class and it really is forcing me to expand my comfort zone. Which is really challenging for me sometimes.
Anyways, back to the tote. Right after I completed the Washington-Lee Bazaar and had a nice chunk of change in my business account, I went a little nuts and ordered a BUNCH of new fabric. Aw man, that was a good day!
Amongst the yardage that I purchased was an old Joel Dewberry print from the Ginseng Collection. I was in love with it for so long and I found an etsy seller that was selling off her yardage. It was a dream to work with, sturdy but not too thick. I added fusible fleece interfacing for some structure. The straps and bottom is made from brown vinyl. The tote closes via a metal zipper which I LOVE. I wish I could afford to put metal zippers on all of my large totes. But boy are they expensive! I’m still looking for a more affordable supplier for them. I got this one at JoAnn’s with a coupon.
It’s the perfect size for my two bibles and both workbooks. And once my class is over, I think I’ll use it for my library bag. Inside is an adorable tree and house print by Cloud 9 Organics.
