But really have no intentions on recovery. Not yet!
Here are 3 of 5 that I whipped up this past Saturday.
Why only the 3?
Because I sold 2 of ‘em before I could make ‘em say cheese. YAY!
Materials used in this group:
denim
canvas
cotton
nylon
dmc thread
felt
interfacing
And here we go.
Turtle love bag, version 2:

Tropical flower:

Pink flower, purple flower:

And here are all my pretties standing up proud & tall at the show on Sunday. Nice atmosphere, good foot traffic, wonderfully organized. I’ll do another show at this location with this promoter in the future. Probably a fall show. Sales were good and I had to let go of some of my favorites. I’ll be replenishing inventory this week. On to the next one!

Matt walks around casing my competition.

Seriously.
But not a Fendi bag lady.
Not even close, thank God.
I love spring-y and pretty bags, so I made a bunch of ‘em.
I’ll be participating in a crafty event this Sunday and I think these bags will fit right in with the theme:

And now, on to the bags…
Magenta twill and paisley:

Black denim and tulips:

Circles, or bubbles, as the case may be, on blue denim:

A wee paisley and pinstripe:

Blue denim with yellow flowers:

Cherries on pinstripe:

Magenta twill with yellow flowers:

And that’s it for this batch. The cherries being an absolute favorite of mine. I have another one of those in the works, but a slightly different shape. Too bad I didn’t have much more of that fabric though. Love.
Materials used in that group:
Denim
twill
cotton
heavy duty interfacing
felt
dmc embroidery thread

A rubberband is a fine way to keep your yoga mat rolled up. But what about when that rubberband breaks, huh? Get another one? And then that one breaks? So get another another one? Only to have that one tear and shoot across the room too? Not a chance! Get yourself a pretty, pretty yoga mat bag and you’ll only be using rubberbands for their intended purpose, making water balloon slingshots.
Materials used for this group:
canvas
cotton or nylon blend lining
There wasn’t a need for interfacing in these bags as the canvas plus the lining makes it already a strong bag and the mat itself provides all the structure it needs.
I didn’t use a pattern, I simply took a look at some yoga mat bags online, measured my rolled up mat, and went for it.
There are 4 bags in all, 2 of each print. I’m thinking I’d like to keep one!

Another hobby of mine is thrifting. I love thrift stores and thrive on sorting through junk to score something cool for next to nothing. I don’t get to do it often enough because quite frankly Matty’s not a big fan of it. Maybe it’s that old musty smell at the Salvy.
So here is a skirt that I picked up recently. I really loved the skirt itself, but knew that I no matter how many alterations I did to it, that 20 inch waist was set in stone and there was no other alternative than to hack it up and make other pretties with it.
Before:

And after:

Materials I used in addition to the yellow print:
twill
wool felt
embroidery thread
interfacing
zippy zippers
I haven’t figured out what I’m going to do with that lace piece yet, it came off in one long strand and just screams at me to do something creative with it. But I’m at a loss so far. We shall see.

I’m quite confident that I have perfected the square bottomed, lined bag. I don’t even need the tutorial anymore! Yay me! These bags are deceptively small, because they really have a nice amount of room on the inside. The ideal bag for a cell, wallet, chapstick, and a trashy paperback. Nice.
Materials used in this group:
various heavyweight, cotton, twill
printed, cotton lining
interfacing
felt
embroidery thread
These 2 are the same, save for the exterior, the blue is denim. I love toile!

These 2 bags are pretty darn huge. I’d say you can fit your favorite small pet in them. Though really, they’re more suited for gym bag, beachbag, diaperbag, anything that requires extr-y room!

patina metai discs
porcelain tiles
all glass seed beads

Easy enough, though the little embroidery pictures take just a bit of time. My big hands find it tough working with little things.
Denim, craft felt, dmc thread, and interfacing.

Still trying to bulk up the craft fair inventory. Which is tough when Matty isn’t really into sleeping right now. Day or night! Poor kid. Anyways, I used both of these tutorials to help me along.
Made with canvas, twill-like material.
The lining is a silver lining (aww).
They have heavy duty interfacing along with a small pastel shell disc as a zipper pull. It’s like a little piece of candy. Yum!

Like little soldiers.
